Armidale is a university and cathedral city in northern NSW, halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. It is located about two hours drive from the coast on the New England Tablelands at an altitude ranging from 970m at the floor of the valley to 1,110m above sea level at the crests of the hills.

Armidale has a unique blend of culture, state of the art technology, educational diversity and natural beauty. Armidale is the terminus of the Main North railway line, with direct links to Sydney via the daily Countrylink service. There is also a modern airport with daily scheduled flights to and from Sydney. The city has several bus companies operating services to connect the city with other major centres.
