Property Description
GARDEN HAVEN RIPE FOR SUMMER
Surrounded by pretty cottage gardens and meandering flowerbeds, this gracious home is on a generous block of about 900sq m and brilliantly connected with Gisborne High School and the town centre just a few minute’s walk, plus the freeway a two-minute drive away. Towards the end of a quiet court, the home has a rambling backyard with private access to a charming creek, and inside, has been modernised with brand new ducted heating, new hot water system and recent new carpet throughout.
The design cleverly zones the three bedrooms to face the northern front garden, with the spacious lounge, dining and kitchen/meals areas at the rear. There’s an open fireplace in the lounge with a bluestone hearth, while the kitchen offers a handy servery, electric cooking and is conveniently connected to town gas. For entertaining, you’ll love admiring the gum trees from the paved patio, or step under the archway down the backyard, and through the gate to the creek, picking the fruit trees along the way.
Each of the bedrooms offers built-in robes, but the main has a handy semi-ensuite. A flexible feature is the built-in shelving in one of the bedrooms, which could make an ideal study.
With separate laundry, great storage, shed, rainwater tank and single undercover carport, this home was recently re-stumped and is now ripe for summer.
Local Suburb Information
Gisborne
Gisborne is an historic and attractive town in the Mt Macedon Hills, 55km north-west of Melbourne. Its countryside location and proximity to Melbourne have made it an increasingly popular place to live.
Gisborne is an attractive settlement, with street plantings of European trees, which are at their best in spring and autumn. The town is 1km west of the highway and 610m above sea-level. It was originally an agricultural district but it is now principally a commuter suburb for Melbourne.
Gisborne has a primary and a secondary school.
The Olde Time Market operates on the first Sunday of the month at the corner of Aitken and Hamilton Streets from October to May. An indoor market runs all year in the shopping centre.
The botanic gardens include a New Zealand corner which reflects the relationship with the sister town of Gisborne in the Shaky Isles. Wineries are also nearby.
