Kingaroy is the regional capital and main commercial centre of the South Burnett region of Queensland and is located 200km north-west of Brisbane and 160km north of Toowoomba. Kingaroy is the hub of the South Burnett Regional Shire.

With a heritage strong in agriculture, Kingaroy has developed and matured into a centre that enjoys economic stability heralded from diverse industry such as coal mining, power generation, quarry materials manufacturing, gemstone, cheese and wine, and tourism becoming the core of the economy over the past two decades.

The economic fact of appeal is that Kingaroy has achieved long term gradual economic growth in the long term without a boom-bust cycle.

Kingaroy is located along the Bunya Highway and is essentially accessible for residence from other major towns, and the greater south east with people cashing in and moving to a more affordable and comfortable lifestyle – yet one that can have you in your boat or at the beach within a couple of hours

Kingaroy Property Market

The Property Market in Kingaroy and generally in the South Burnett has enjoyed, like most parts of Queensland solid growth over recent years, which has driven positive growth in capital values generally. Kingaroy is seen as the major commercial centre of the region and it draws on people from Nanango, Wondai, Murgon and as far as Gayndah.

The Property market has confronted challenges like other market generally in recent times however, the Kingaroy area has remained quite buoyant to date underpinned by strong population growth in the area.  As with other regional centres, the supply of land for future residential estate development remains tight.  Kingaroy is seen as a safe place to invest.

The Kingaroy housing marketing has remained strong with many first homebuyers taking advantage of a more affordable housing and comfortable lifestyle that Kingaroy offers. Typical houses range from $250,000 and units around $220,000.

Investors have also taken the opportunity to continue to invest in the area as rental investments yield about 5% and residential vacancy rates remaining very low. The region has delivered steady population growth of about 1.5% a year over the last 5 years, against the trend of population decline in many rural areas of Australia. National retails are continuing to establish themselves in the area.
