About Lake Munmorah

Look for the heart that flows between Newcastle, The Hunter Valley and Sydney and you’ll find a little hidden gem. A beautiful town called Lake Munmorah. The Northern Central Coast or Southern Lake Macquarie, call it what you will, we are surrounded by some of the best beaches and lakes on the coast line of NSW.

Originally advertised as “Golden Beach Estate”, on the “NSW Sunshine Coast”, where you could purchase land from £295 with a deposit of £25, the area was advertised as a “Paradise for outdoor living”.

Fast forward to today… Lake Munmorah has a population of 4,802 and very few vacant blocks available. What was once a holiday destination, this beautiful area has now become a permanent residential lifestyle. With ever-expanding local facilities, such as the Lake Munmorah Bowling Club, both private and public schools, Doctor’s surgeries, specialty shops and recently added, Woolworths Shopping Centre, the area is becoming a very desirable investment location.

There is much to see and do in the surrounding suburbs. Chain Valley Bay, Mannering Park, Gwandalan and Summerland Point, all sit on the edge of Lake Macquarie, the largest salt water lake in Australia. Largely popular for swimming, water sports and fishing, be sure to visit Sandy Beach in Summerland Point!

Frazer National Park offers something for everyone. It is very popular for its rock fishing, there are picnic spots, beach and bush walks, and the stunning Frazer Beach. Head north a few more minutes, and you will discover the historical mining town of Catherine Hill Bay. Start at the beach and end the day at the iconic “Catho Pub”! Make sure you visit the Catherine Hill Bay Surf Club, which we have been proud sponsors of, for over a decade. If you’re there on a weekend, you’ll get to see the award-winning team of life-savers in action.

If it’s shopping you’re after, head 15 minutes south on the freeway, to Westfield Shopping Centre at Tuggerah. It’s not only for great shopping, but offers a myriad of dining choices and Event Cinema. Alternatively, 30 minutes north and you can get lost in the shopping mecca of Charlestown Square, with countless shops, great dining, a huge cinema complex with Gold Class, and Strike Bowling. You can’t go past the New Shanghai restaurant!

If you’d rather take a scenic drive, then follow the road south along the ocean for 20 minutes, and you will reach The Entrance, a hugely popular holiday location boasting live outdoor entertainment, open air shopping and dining, great pubs and restaurants, and live Pelican feeding on the foreshore.

Just 45 minutes North and you are in the heart of the stunning port-side town of Newcastle.

With so many options to cater for all tastes, such easy access to the freeway, all while maintaining that close community feel, it’s easy to see why Lake Munmorah is fast becoming one of the most desirable areas to live.

Check it out for yourself this weekend and bring the boat! Make sure you come and say hi to our team!
