History

Gymea takes its name from the Gymea Lily, the Aboriginal meaning is 'A Giant Lily'.

Attractions

Gymea's shopping strip is built up around the railway station and consists of rows of shops either side of the street. For those who are more keen to shop, Miranda Westfield is only 5 minutes away. Gymea has two gyms, a few scattered reserves and is in close proximity to the Royal National Park.

Transport

Gymea is 25km South if the Sydney CBD. It is accessed via the Kingsway from either the Princes Highway or Port Hacking Road. Trains run every 15-20 minutes from Gymea during peak hour.
