Kensington is about 6km from Sydney’s CBD, in the local government area of the City of Randwick, in the Eastern Suburbs region.

Principal landmarks are the main campus of the University of New South Wales (UNSW), National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and the exclusive Australian Golf Club. Kensington is next to Randwick Racecourse and Centennial Park.
