Freshwater is part of the Northern Beaches region, about 17km north-east of Sydney’s CBD, in the local government area of Warringah Council. Freshwater is between Curl Curl and Queenscliff and lies on the Manly to Curl Curl Beach walk. It was formerly known as Harbord.
Freshwater Beach is just 10 mins drive north of Manly, or a short walk over the headland. Sydney’s Northern Beaches region is famous for its spectacular scenery, excellent eateries, shopping and some of Sydney’s best real estate.
Freshwater has two schools, St John The Baptist Primary School and Harbord Public School.
The suburb is served by buses and is close to several major hospitals.
