Kyneton is a thriving country town in the Macedon Ranges of Victoria. The town is located in Shire of Macedon Ranges and was named after the English village of Kineton, Warwickshire.

With close proximity to Melbourne and Melbourne Airport, easy access via the Calder Freeway, and excellent train services, the town is a popular place to live and visit.

Kyneton has become a dining destination with high class restaurants, hotels and cafes. Art galleries, home furnishing, craft, books, nurseries, gifts, food, wine, clothing, and a range of other businesses serve the area.

There are three main streets - Mollison Street, Piper Street and High Street. The town has some of Victoria’s finest Bluestone buildings, dating back to the Gold Rush era when Kyneton was a major supply town for the diggings. The Kyneton Courthouse tried Ned Kelly in 1870 for robbery under arms. The courthouse continues to function but only as a magistrate’s court.

Kyneton is home to mineral springs, the Campaspe River, botanical gardens and historic houses. The town is host to several annual events including the ANZAC Day parade, Kyneton Jazz Festival, Kyneton Daffodil Festival, Kyneton Agricultural show and the Kyneton Cup.

Local schools and educational facilities include Kyneton Primary School, Our Lady of the Rosary, Kyneton, Kyneton Secondary College, Sacred Heart College Kyneton, Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE (BRIT) Kyneton Campus, Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT), NMIT Kyneton Park Training Centre (Kyneton Racecourse).

Kyneton has several medical centres and doctor surgeries, as well as Kyneton District Health Service which provides many health services and specialists.
