R&H Suburb Profile MEADOWS

Meadows is a town in the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, just 40 minutes south east of Adelaide. This thriving community boasts historic buildings, craft shops, winery and bakery and offers a refreshing change from the pace of the nearby city.

Set in the northern Fleurieu region, Meadows is traditionally known for its rich dairy industry and hosts a monthly produce market, as well as two annual fairs.

The Meadows Monthly Market is held on the second Sunday of each month and offers a wide variety of local produce including vegetables, fruit, jams, honey and eggs, plants, books, crafts and collectables. Displays and demonstrations vary from month to month.

Meadows shares its corner of the Adelaide Hills with the 3600ha Kuitpo Forest, a popular haunt for bird-watchers, picnickers and recreational bush-walkers. The wine-heartlands of McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek are a pleasant, 20-minute drive away.

Meadows boasts its own district kindergarten and primary school and is located 20 minutes from many other public and private schools, two country hospitals and only 30 minutes from Flinders Medical Centre and University.
