R&H Suburb Profile CARINA
Carina is an eastern suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, about 7km from the CBD. It is predominantly residential and was developed in the 1950s and 1960s. Residents are close to transport, schools and shops and have their own library.
The Brisbane City Council has a large bus depot in Creek Road, next to Westfield Carindale. Travel to the CBD is about 15 mins by car (off peak). Buses take about 15 mins too, and the railway station at Cannon Hill is nearby.
There’s local shopping on Stanley Road and Old Cleveland Road. If you’re after larger shopping malls try nearby Cannon Hill or Carindale.
There are four schools including St Martin’s School (Catholic primary school), Carina State School, Mayfield State School and San Sisto College (girls’ Catholic secondary school).
Clem Jones Centre is a large sporting complex on Creek Road, Carina. Popular sports include rugby league, netball, baseball, basketball, tennis, swimming, water polo, triathlon, cricket and athletics.
