Charmhaven is a suburb of the Central Coast region of NSW. It is part of the Wyong Shire local government area and close to Lakehaven Shopping Centre.

The town is about 40km (40 min drive) to Gosford, 53km from Newcastle and 107km from Sydney’s CBD. It has a handful of family-style restaurants and is regarded as a quiet town. The wider area of the Central Coast has shown consistent residential growth.

The climate is subtropical, with warm humid summers and mild cool winters. Rainfall is spread evenly throughout the year.

The region is a network of towns linked by expanding suburban development. The main urban cluster surrounds the northern shore of Brisbane Water and includes Gosford, stretching east to the retail centre of Erina. Other major commercial centres are Wyong, Tuggerah, Lakehaven, The Entrance, Terrigal, and Woy Woy. Large numbers of people who live in the southern part of the region commute daily to Sydney. The Central Coast is also a popular tourist and retiree destination.

The Central Coast’s population is about 298,000, making it the third largest urban area in NSW and the ninth largest in Australia. In September 2006 the NSW Government released a revised long term plan for the region that included classification of the Central Coast as a regional city, along with Wollongong and the Hunter Region.

There are many private and public schools on the Central Coast ranging from Kindergarten to Year 12. The two most well known are Central Coast Grammar School (private, K - 12) and Gosford High School (academically selective).

The region is serviced by Wyong Hospital at Kanwal, one of the largest facilities on the Central Coast. Other hospitals include Berkeley Vale Private and North Gosford Private.
