Buyer’s Market Benefits Sellers
Currently properties for sale outnumber purchasers ready and willing to buy them - a classic buyer's market. Depressing news?
Not so for 90% of Tweed Heads/Coolangatta residents according to Anthony Davis of Raine & Horne Tweed Heads/Coolangatta.
Why? Because over 90% of buyers are upwardly mobile - after selling they go on to purchase a more expensive home than the one they sold.
"Property prices are now at the low end of the price curve, " Anthony Davis said. "This makes it a great time to trade up."
According to Richard Arrowsmith if you're disappointed in the price agents indicate as the reasonable selling price for your property in the current market, you shouldn't be - because when it's your turn to buy you will make substantial savings.
“You don't need to be Einstein to work out that if you're upgrading to a more expensive property, your percentage gain will be greater than the one the purchaser made on your original home,” Richard Arrowsmith said.
According to Lydon Gibbons another advantage of buying and selling in the same market is that property consumers have plenty of time to do their research and feel confident they are making the right decision.
"After all, the principal place of residence is the single greatest asset for most property owners," Lydon Gibbons concluded.
"There's nothing worse than feeling you have to make a hasty decision just because you've sold your home on a rising market and are afraid of prices getting away from you. The best thing about buying and selling in the same market is that you don't become a victim of fluctuating prices." Agreed Anthony Davis
