Yamba

Yamba is a town at the mouth of the Clarence River in NSW, about seven hours north of Sydney and three hours south of Brisbane. Yamba boasts stylish village charm, pristine beaches, national parks and award winning restaurants. The town offers a relaxed lifestyle with access to all services, and is within easy reach of major regional centres and capital cities.

In 2009 Yamba was voted the number 1 town in Australia by Australian Traveller Magazine. It was also declared by the CSIRO and Stanford University as having the best climate in the world (along with San Diego, California and Bunbury, Western Australia).

Yamba has a population of about 7000 and an economy based on fishing and tourism. Due to the ‘sea change’ phenomenon, there are a large number of baby boomers who are starting to retire to there. In turn, Yamba’s service industries are growing.

Yamba has sporting and recreation groups, restaurants, eateries, cafes, primary schools, cinema, churches, swimming pools, golf course, bowling greens and a large deep-water marina. It has a post office, banks and internet facilities.

All major bus companies travel the Pacific Highway and have arrangements to stop either at Maclean CBD or on the Pacific Highway at the Ferry Park Tourist Complex on the outskirts of Maclean.

Trains arrive at Grafton City Railway station daily with connections to CountryLink buses.
