Property Matters, November Newsletter

Welcome to the November edition of Property Matters.

It's hard to believe, but it's only 4 weeks until Christmas!
Don't worry, we've got you covered. In this issue we've taken care of all your Christmas worries, including a blog to help you decorate your home, the Bathurst Carols by Candlelight event details, and our Christmas and New Years Out of Office dates.

In this month's issue we also look at real estate updates which highlights positive news that the value of Australian housing is on the rise and $10 million Federal and State Funding granted to Bathurst Council for two major water infrastructure projects for our region.

In office news we feature the Mount Panorama Punish of which we are proud sponsors. It's such a fantastic event and if you've always wondered what all the fuss is about, why not check out the video we have produced of this gruelling 6.2 km "fun" run.

On the market front, sales enquiries has become somewhat patchy over the last week or so and is likely to remain so over the Christmas period. Obtaining finance remains a contributory factor in this regard.
The rental market remains strong and although vacancies have increased, as they always do at this time of the year, we are still receiving good enquiries from prospective tenants.

We hope you enjoy this edition!

Local News

gh   Funding of $10 million for two major water infrastructure projects

Council is working closely with the State and Federal Governments to deliver a range of projects to secure our region's water supply. The State Government has announced funding of $10 million for two major water infrastructure projects for our region.
Stormwater harvesting: a project to implement stormwater harvesting in Bathurst to supplement water supplies delivered to the water filtration treatment plant.
Winburndale pipeline: a replacement pipeline from the Winburndale Dam to the water filtration treatment plant. The works will connect the water stored in the dam to Bathurst and ensure it is suitable for drinking.
The Drought Communities Project funding from the Federal Government has recently resulted in new and improved infrastructure and facilities around our region, particularly in the rural villages. These include Sofala, Hill End, Trunkey Creek, Rockley, Yetholme, Peel, Wattle Flat and Georges Plains. The program saw $1 million allocated to Council to provide funding for initiatives to assist with local infrastructure and community projects.
Council has delivered water tanks to four sites across the Bathurst region including Yetholme, Trunkey Creek, George's Plains and Freemantle. The tanks and these are all plumbed and filled with water ready for use.

I would like to thank both the State and Federal Governments for their support for projects that help in securing the region's water supply, and we would also like to congratulate everyone in the community for your commitment in following Extreme level water restrictions as we hea
