A HEARTFELT MESSAGE FROM MARIO & ROB - OUR STORY FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS TILL NOW.

The end of the year always marks a time for reflection and as we near the end of 2019 our hearts are filled with gratitude for the year that was.

Of the many milestones we reached this year the first and perhaps most sentimental to us was celebrating our 24th year in business. When my brother Rob and I joined the Raine & Horne network all those years ago we had a humble team of only 4 in a very small office in Coburg (see photo below-I was 29 there), yet we shared a grand vision, to bring a world-class real-estate experience to the residents of Melbourne’s Inner North.

If you had of told 29 year old me that by 2019 my brother and I would have achieved all we set out to – I’d have a hard time believing it. But here we are today in our multi-million dollar state of the art office in Brunswick, backed by a team of 30 of the finest real-estate experts. That under our roof we have a Rental Division, managing in excess of 2000 properties - one of the largest portfolios in North, we also have our Residential Sales Division and Commercial Division. Plus we launched an in house Marketing Team and since we’ve made waves in the industry winning multiple State and National Awards for Social Media & Marketing Excellence. We’ve also achieved new record sales prices in Brunswick and Coburg. (see list at the end of this letter). The lesson I take away from all of this is: If you never lose sight of your end goal and understand that having a commitment to service excellence actually means you have a commitment to always evolving and finally if your inner most values are based on a foundation of integrity – then your dreams will become your reality. Perseverance and hard work, this is the key to growth.

The past 3 years have been especially transformational for my industry as a whole – and of all the exciting changes, the one that has impacted our vendors the most, is how we strategically market your property for sale.

If there’s one message we want to emphasise to vendors it’s this: You never get a second chance to make a positive first impression. How you “introduce” your home into Melbourne’s highly competitive property market will set the tempo for the entire sales campaign and plays a fundamental role in achieving an exceptional sales results.

For this reason in 2019 my brother Rob set out to take our Sales division to soaring new heights, it wasn’t enough to have a tight team of highly specialised sales executives – We wanted an in-house marketing team who weren’t scared to do things nobody else was doing yet. Creatives who’d push the envelope, giving our clients something they’d not find elsewhere. And so our Marketing Division was born – but it didn’t happen over-night. We spent one intensive month interviewing top property photographers, videographers, interior stylists, social media and marketing experts and graphic designers. By the end we had proudly curated a dream team of passionate individuals who shared in the our vision for – world-class real estate. Our team collaboratively work together so when we’re ready to reveal your property to the market, we’re all so proud of the final product. In turn this year we’ve achieved unparalleled sales results for our clients.

Something else you may not know about us is we’re Northside locals – we don’t just work here, but we’ve called the inner Northern suburbs home our entire lives, choosing to raise our own children here too. The community spirit here is real and this year we wanted to do something for the growing families who call the North home. We aligned with The Coburg Velodrome Events to bring you, “The Ride In Cinema” a free open-air movie night hosted alongside some of the local primary schools and sports clubs. We also took part in Supporting Ability Festival – to raise money for disabled youth through an all-inclusive music festival also held at the Coburg Velodrome.

While 2019 marked a year of unprecedented success for our clients –it was undeniably one of the most challenging years for our industry as a whole too. The Victorian banks’ lending regulations tightened making it extremely difficult for many buyers to obtain finance leading to a dramatic decline in the number of properties in the area for sale. We saw neighbouring real-estate agencies forced to let go of agents, some even closing their doors. But it was during this time that we counted ourselves especially blessed because our clients still chose to come to us, trusting we'd as always produce a top result. To those we’ve built beautiful friendships with over the past 10-20+ years we’ve known you and to those that were new, who put their trust in us for the first time. We cannot thank-you enough for choosing our family business to sell or lease your home, your investment property or your boutique development. We are forever grateful for your support.
