A STUNNING DOSE OF CHRISTMAS STYLING INSPIRATION FROM INTERIOR DESIGNER, ANNA CAYZER'S SEASIDE HOME

Interior designer Anna Cayzer and her husband Marty with their three children and two dogs live in this beautiful four bedroom Mediterranean style home in Bungan Beach in Sydney.

After purchasing their dream seaside home in 2012 and renovating for 6 months they moved in.  As Anna’s husband travels a lot for work, their goal was to create a relaxed environment where they could easily “switch off from everyday life”.

Carefully curating their home with vintage furniture, brass accents and linen adds to this casual feel. Downstairs old tiles were replaced with concrete flooring and upstairs the floorboards were painted a light shade of grey.

For their family, Christmas is a stylish but chilled out affair. Presents are wrapped in paper that matches the homes interior colour scheme, simple white’s, browns and a hint of green.  A charming wreath hangs over the fireplace and a pine tree is decorated with handmade white ornaments. We love how this home proves that less is so much more, with no need to go OTT with decorations.

The festivities start in the early afternoon to make the most of being right by the beach and go right into dinner. Anna entertains for either her own family or her husband’s family, usually having a total of 20 guests. “The kids will be running up and down from the beach and jumping in the pool, with the dogs racing around.” Fresh prawns with champagne are followed by a late lunch consisting of ham and turkey, accompanied by summer salads. “It’s a big traditional meal but it’s all very casual,” she says.
