The figures are now in for 2018, there were 1,470 houses and units sold. It has been over 30 years since we have seen such low numbers in house and units sales. We looked at the records back to 1988 and found the average number of houses and units sold each year was around 1,650. The boom in 2004 produced a whopping 3906 house and unit sales.
Taking out the record for highest sale price in 2018 was a home in Bargara selling for $1.45million, a massive contrast to the homes selling around $50,000-$60,000 in some pockets of Bundaberg.
2019 has had a slower start to the year than expected with only 29 houses and units going under contract so far in 4670. We are seeing first home buyers continuing to make up the lion share of buyers, age being no barrier as we are seeing Baby Boomers and Generation X buying their first homes.
There are some great properties on the market, two exceptional value properties with us right now are 10 Pecton Place in Avenell Heights, and 4 Finbay Avenue in Avoca. Both tenanted and receiving good rates.
