NEW SPONSOR FOR JUNIOR BASKETBALL

Raine & Horne Dubbo proudly announce their sponsorship of the ever-evolving Dubbo Junior Basketball Association. Ken Mongan J.P . Managing Director at Raine & Horne Dubbo says the real estate agency is looking forward to giving back to their community.
“For some time, we’ve searched for the right way of giving back to the community in such a way that supports up-and-coming young people of our region,” he says.
The Dubbo Basketball Association is a not-for-profit organisation and affiliate of Basketball NSW. Their purpose and intention is to offer the Dubbo community the opportunity to play basketball in a safe, friendly, and competitive domain. And while that is a great mission, paying for it has not always been easy.
The mounting costs of court-hire, uniforms, travel, and equipment have put a strain on the local association in the past. Now that Raine & Horne are one of the main sponsors of the junior team, some of that financial pressure will be lifted. The first goal is to get every team member in uniform so that they look the part of a dedicated basketball team.
Incoming president Gordon Hale recently told Nick Guthrie at the Daily Liberal that addressing the issue of team presentation with new singlets for every member in the junior league will give the team a new look, which may attract new members.
With many improvements on the horizon, the new sponsorships, which includes Western Plains Granite and Peppercorn Childcare, are a great start to the 2019 season.
Ken says seeing local kids happy playing sport is a driving force behind their support.
“We are blown away by the 30 teams of approximately 300 kids that support the Dubbo Basketball Association. In such a tech-driven society, we are so pleased to see kids with big smiles enjoying a run-around the court with their mates and building fundamental life skills at a young age,” says Ken.
Playing sport is a favourite pastime of Aussie kids and a healthy activity that builds character, strength, confidence, self-esteem, social aptitude and the ability to work as part of a team.
“The team here at Raine & Horne wish all players, parents, and officials the very best for the up and coming season,” says Ken.
