Experienced eastern suburbs principal Craig Sewell takes the reins at Raine & Horne Randwick/Coogee

May 23, 2024

Experienced real estate specialist Craig Sewell and his team from Mint 360 Property are embarking on a fresh chapter as Raine & Horne Randwick/Coogee.

Leveraging Mr Sewell’s extensive industry experience spanning back to 1991 across various real estate brands, coupled with his adeptness in successful sales negotiations, the well-entrenched agency is poised for a new era of expansion and success.

Business as usual at Raine & Horne Randwick/Coogee

Since 1977, under the guidance of Terry Brandtman, Raine & Horne Randwick, which has catered not only to Randwick but also to suburbs such as Coogee and Clovelly, has stood as a cornerstone in the Eastern Suburbs’ real estate landscape. Mr Brandtman will now shift to a sales position within Raine & Horne Randwick/Coogee, maintaining an ongoing presence within the team.

When reflecting on the change, Mr Sewell expressed his respect for Mr Brandtman’s legacy. He noted, “Terry has been an influential figure in the industry, and I’m honoured to build upon the strong foundation he has laid for Raine & Horne Randwick/Coogee.

“I have been an acquaintance of Terry for a very long time, and he will remain an integral part of our team, contributing as a conjunction agent, ensuring continuity and preserving the strong relationships he has cultivated over the years.”

Decades of excellence in Eastern Suburbs real estate

Having been deeply ingrained in the Eastern Suburbs real estate scene since 1991, primarily in the 2031 postcode with an emphasis on sales and property management, Mr Sewell has built a team of about 25 dedicated professionals across real estate sales and property management.

“Throughout our journey, we’ve been recognised as finalists for Principal of the Year by both the REI and REB, showcasing our unwavering dedication to excellence.” During its association with a previous brand, Mr Sewell and his team ranked among the top five offices within that network.

“We were finalists in 2019 and 2020 for REB’s Property Manager of the Year but were beaten by my good friend Gerard Hill and the team at Raine & Horne Newtown,” Mr Sewell advised.

Mr Sewell expressed several reasons for joining Raine & Horne, citing personal relationships and the brand’s offerings as influential factors.

“My association with individuals such Gerard Hill and Executive Chairman Angus Raine, along with the strategic opportunities presented by Raine & Horne, drew me towards this partnership.

“Joining Raine & Horne allows us to leverage their established systems and services, such as the first-to-market AI marketing platform Amplify, relieving us of the need to reinvent the wheel constantly.”

Leveraging opportunities for rent roll growth

With a solid plan to expand their property portfolio of 1850 rentals, Mr Sewell is optimistic about the future, stating, “I’ve already had a chat with a couple of other principals in this region that have rent rolls that want to focus on sales. So, there are opportunities to pick up other rent rolls around Randwick.”

Mr Sewell continued, “We aim to further enhance our position in the market by leveraging our expertise and the support offered by Raine & Horne.”

Regarding the Randwick real estate market's outlook for the remainder 2024, Mr Sewell stated, “While we anticipate interest rate reductions by the end of 2024, the Randwick market offers steady opportunities, especially for investors eyeing apartments.

“Despite a limited supply currently, the imminent increase in unit constructions signifies growth potential, while yields of 3.5-4% are reasonably healthy.”
