LILY GRACE MEMORIAL

On 30 November 2014 the remains of a newborn baby girl were found by young Nippers in the sand dunes of Maroubra Beach.

After extensive Police investigations, resulting in the child’s mother not being located it was later reported that the baby would be given a destitute burial.

Raine & Horne Maroubra’s Senior Property Manager Filomena D’Alessandro with her husband Detective Sergeant William Green approached both NSW Police & The Deputy State Coroner in order to unofficially adopt the child in effort to provide her with a decent and dignified funeral.

Together with Deputy State Coroner His Honour Magistrate Hugh Dillon they named this child Baby Lily Grace. The public outpour was overwhelming, donations flowed in & on 29 April 2015 marked the Memorial service attended by many Dignitaries & members of the Public.

Raine & Horne’s Paul Spanoudakis & Tony Lucas along and all the staff were amazing in assisting with the organisation of the day, not only donating financially, but their attendance & involvement was overwhelming.

Hence, 29 April every year marks Baby  Lily Grace Awareness Day, a day to honour and remember all our Nation’s unknown children .

A service will be held at Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park at 6am, we invite you to be part of this special service, we would love to see you there.
