The recent auction sale of 83 Silver Street Marrickville on the 14^th March 2012 at Raine & Horne’s City Fringe Auction Venue was testimony to the resilience of the property market in the Marrickville area.

With 20 interested bidders registered, Raine & Horne’s regular auctioneer David Gray received 27 bids before eventually knocking the hammer down. The rundown Victorian terrace on a 122 sqm block of land sold for an above reserve price of $623,500.

According to Raine & Horne Marrickville Sales Director Michael Smith, ‘This result epitomises the increased strength of the Marrickville property market since 2006.’

‘Marrickville was ranked in the top 100 suburbs across Australia, being 51^st suburb in dollar value property sales turnover for houses and units in 2011,’ he said.

‘This is only the second time Marrickville made the top 100 suburbs having been 98^th in 2010, rising from 125^th in 2006.’

‘Marrickville is a great place to live,’ explained Mr. Smith. ‘In this diverse and well located area property will continue to be highly sought after.’
