February Auction Wrap Up

There was standing room only at the Raine and Horne Marrickville’s auction night last Monday, where a total of eight out of nine properties sold under the hammer. Keen buyers had started arriving an hour early to register, indicating a busy night ahead.

One of the most popular auctions was the sale of an Earlwood townhouse at 4/76-80 Wardell Rd, which attracted 10 registered bidders. Selling agent Ben Ayers said it was bought for $677,500 by an investor from Darlinghurst. Mr Ayers also sold 547 Homer St, Earlwood, for $911,000.

“The market in Marrickville and Earlwood is on fire. The house at 547 Homer St, Earlwood, sold to a young couple,’’ Mr Ayers said. “I put their property on the market yesterday and I’ve already received over 55 inquiries for it.’’ Agent, Filippo D’Arrigo, sold a home at 20 Cavey St, Marrickville, with co-agent William Pereira. The three-bedroom property fetched $900,000 and attracted the interest of four bidders.

An Art-Deco house at 54 Station St, Tempe, was another property snapped up on the night. It sold for $872,000 through Mr D’Arrigo and Youseff Chmait.
