Council takes part in Cairns Show

16 July 2010

Community engagement will take centre stage at Council’s stand at this year’s Cairns Show.

Mayor Val Schier said the gathering of ideas and suggestions from community members is one of the top priorities for Council’s involvement with the 116th Cairns Show, which will begin next Wednesday.

“Council is eager to hear about the community’s vision for the future.  The annual Show is traditionally the meeting place for the region’s people and so a perfect opportunity for us to listen and record ideas for our community plan” Cr Schier said.

“Staff from every branch of Council will be on hand all three days of the show to interact with families and individuals – to answer your questions and give information on projects, services and all our facilities.”

Come along for your chance to win tickets to the Davis Cup. Divisional Councillors and staff will be on hand to hear your visions for the future of our community.

Cairns Regional Council will showcase its strategies, projects and services at a booth in the Fred Moule Pavilion - attended by Councillors and staff for the all three days of the event - that will provide information and seek community feedback.

Council’s stand is booth numbers 134-137 along the south west wall of the Fred Moule Pavilion.
