Local builder earns top honours

Local builder Nathan Verri is the region's hottest property after he won two gongs at the Far North Queensland master Builder Awards.  Mr Verri took out the prize for best house up to $400,000 and the Rising Star Award in recognition of his mere 27 years of age.  He personally designed and built the winning four bedroom, two  bathroom home at Cooya Beach.

'Its a modern, open-plan, new-age home.  I built it for myself so its got everything you coulld want - an outdoor area, swimming pool, beabecue and pizza oven - but its for sale at the moment.' said Mr Verri.

The property was built with the environment in mind, with an eco-friendly computerised garden watering system, rain sensor and enerty efficient lighting.  In 2009 he won the category in toth the FNQ and Queensland Master Builder Awards for an individual home priced between $551,000 and $700,000.

The house is currently under contract and was listed in the Port Douglas and Mossman Gazette's Hot Property section.
