Port Chamber forges closer alliance with tourism body
The Port Douglas Gazette reportst this week that the Port Douglas Chamber of Commerce held a joint board meeting with tourism bodies to see how they could formally work together more closely. 'There is such a huge overlap betweek general business and direct tourism businesses. In the past, when times have been hard such as during the pilots' strike, the whole community realised we are all dependant on tourism, and pulled together.'
'There is a resurgence of that feeling now,' stated Ken Dobbs from the Chamber of Commerce.
