PARRAMATTA'S NEW AQUATIC LEISURE CENTRE

The new aquatic and recreational centre in Parramatta has been buzzing with activity for the past few months. The new facility will provide recreational and wellbeing amenities for people of different ages, abilities, backgrounds, talents, and interests.

Strategically located on the boundary of Parramatta’s CBD, the aquatic centre is within the southern domain of the May’s Hill precinct of Parramatta Park. It is bordered by Park Parade to the north, and Parramatta High School to the south with views to the east due to the sites elevation.

It will encompass a 50m, 10 lane outdoor pool with seating, a 25m indoor recreational pool, an indoor Learn to Swim pool, an indoor water playground, multipurpose community rooms, steam, spa, and sauna facilities, a health and wellness centre with a modern gym and programme rooms, a cafe, and over 200 parking spaces will be available at the facility.

With construction in full swing, the 40,000sqm (approx.), $88.6 million (approx.) centre is slated to launch in 2023, where over 500 indigenous trees will be planted in the local area to provide shade as well as the installation of solar panels on the roof to generate around 42,000 kilowatts per year of clean solar energy.

This once-in-a-generation project is just another major factor displaying the immense growth of Parramatta.
