Batemans Bay agency dominates major property industry awards

MARCH 16, 2020

Powerhouse NSW South Coast real estate firm Raine & Horne Batemans Bay was recognised as one of NSW’s best at a major industry award event held last week at Sydney’s Star Casino in Darling Harbour.

The leading firm was named Raine & Horne’s Top Coastal Office for the second year in a row with star agent Kate Quinlivan named as the global network’s second-best sales agent in NSW based on the dollar value of her sales in 2019.

Ms Quinlivan also made the top ten in the Salesperson – Number of Sales categories along with fellow Batemans Bay agent Sarah Ralston. Ms Ralston also finished in the Top Salesperson – Number of Sales category along with Peggy McAlister and Bronwyn Geppert from Raine & Horne Batemans Bay.

With four sales agents among the individual sales awards, Raine & Horne Batemans Bay, led by principal Adam Porteous, scored second in Top Office – Number of Sales and Top Office – Dollar Value categories.

Several factors have contributed to the award-winning ways of Raine & Horne Batemans Bay including the longevity of the ability of the team to collaborate, put all their clients first and career longevity, according to Mr Porteous said.

“Kate, Bronwyn, Peggy and Sarah always try and do things better, and they are a collaborative group who enjoy celebrating each other’s successes. They also help sell each other’s stock as they want to help our clients.

“They also look beyond the sale of today and understand the service they provide to buyers today could result in a sale in 1, 2 or 5 years.”

Mr Porteous said his sales team also recognise their roles within the group. “Using rugby league parlance, they all stay in their corridors. They know their jobs, and they stick to the game plan.”

The longevity of the Raine & Horne Bateman’s Bay sales team is also a factor in its award-winning success.

Ms Quinlivan has clocked up 14 years, while Ms Geppert and Ms Ralston have recently achieved ten years of sales success. Ms McAlister is the exception to the longevity rule having just completed two years of service with Raine & Horne Batemans Bay.

Mr Porteous singled out Ms Quinlivan for her results in 2019. “Kate’s work ethic and ability to problem-solve are critical to her business success,” he said.

“Every property transaction has Kate’s undivided attention. She nurses every deal through carefully and has empathy for each situation. Selling a property is not just a job; this is her passion.”

After a very challenging start to 2020 due to the bushfires that ravaged the South Coast, Mr Porteous predicts the Batemans Bay property market will have a solid year.

“We have over 500 properties in our region to be rebuilt, and this will generate a lot of work and get the economy turning over fast,” said Mr Porteous, who lost his home in the bushfires.

“The rebuilding process will inject many hundreds of millions of dollars into an area that didn’t have this level of investment six months ago.

Also, a new hospital has been earmarked for the region, while the NSW Government has pledged $300 million for Nelligen and Batemans Bay bridges.

Mr Porteous added, “Even in January when the region was on fire, we still had a relatively healthy month for sales, and since the start of the year, values have risen in this region by 2-5% over the last six weeks.

“People are spending money, and local retailers are reporting they had their best February in ten years. We are very upbeat about the prospects for Batemans Bay real estate this year.
