Regional Queensland real estate office adopts artificial intelligence to win more business

APRIL 4, 2019

A leading real estate firm has embraced the latest initiative in artificial intelligence (AI) to improve its market share in Rockhampton in Central Queensland.

Raine & Horne Rockhampton has adopted Amplify, a world first initiative in AI technology that enabled the entire Raine & Horne global network to promote and sell over 6,500 listings through social media in 2018.

Over the past six months, the Rockhampton firm has used Amplify to list and sell properties in Allenstown, Koongal, Gracemere, Pink Lily, Norman Gardens, Glenlee, Frenchville, and Bouldercombe.

Steve Worrad, General Manager Raine & Horne said, “With an increasingly challenging market it’s now more critical than ever to look at new technologies such as Amplify to help us list and sell real estate and attract buyers to our properties.

“Amplify now forms part of our new digital strategy aimed at defying better results for our offices whether they’re in Queensland’s Rockhampton or Rockingham in Perth.”

Joseph Ireland, Principal of Raine & Horne Rockhampton, said, “The traffic that Amplify drives to our website has pushed us to Number 2 on Google and is helping to underpin our reputation as one of the best agencies in town.

“These results are being achieved even though we are a much smaller team than some of the bigger offices in town that employ 20-30 staff. With Amplify, we feel we can become a much bigger office, and we’re using it to improve our standing on Facebook and LinkedIn.”

Since adopting Amplify in the June Quarter of 2018, Mr Ireland can now attribute a significant number of new calls for sales appraisals and enquiries to the AI technology.

Buyers are also finding the Rockhampton office’s listings thanks to the AI technology. “The buyers of 74 Richmont Road Bouldercombe found the property because of Amplify,” noted Mr Ireland.

The exquisite 4-bedroom family home with a stunning inground pool with waterfall, privately set on 2.5 acres of beautiful bushland within one of the most exclusive enclaves in Bouldercomb sold for a very healthy $445,000.

Mr Ireland admitted to initially having some reservations about adopting the AI technology for his marketing. “I thought that because we are in a regional area, Amplify might not work.

“But Amplify has positioned us as one of the leading offices in Rockhampton and is generating further appraisal and listing business at a time when the Rockhampton real estate market is very challenging,” he said.

“That said, rental vacancy rates have fallen to 2%, while we have yields of 4-5%, which compare very favourably to the capital cities.

“If the Adani Mine gets the green light, it will be a gamechanger for the Rockhampton market and will attract investors overnight chasing the prospect of yield and decent long-term capital growth.”
