If walls could talk this building would have hundreds of stories to tell.
Built in 1917, this historic railway station has seen many a weary traveller pass by on their way across this great southern land. Oozing with character and charm the railway’s original bar is now the proud home to the much-loved café, Mamma Lou’s.
Purchased by a mother and daughter team in 2016, this savvy duo have turned Mamma Lou’s in to one of Port Augusta’s favourite coffee spots over the last five years. Offering traditional café favourites including burgers, eggs & bacon, wraps, cakes and to cater for ever-growing dietary requirements, Mamma Lou’s also have gluten free and vegan options to share. Great coffee is also on offer, with sales of around 10kg of coffee per week. The café in recent times has also started selling a range of giftware as an extra income stream for the business.
Operating only 5 days per week for relatively short hours, Mamma Lou’s is perfect for an owner operator looking to make their mark on the café sector in Port Augusta.
