Pyrmont is an inner-city suburb 2km ofsouth-west of Sydney's CBD, in the localgovernment area of the City of Sydney. Pyrmont was once a vital component of Sydney's industrial waterfront, with wharves, shipbuilding yards, factories and wool stores. Union Square is a major heritage precinct, with many buildings listed on the Register of the National Estate.. The Pyrmont/Ultimo region is home to more than 30 restaurants and cafes, mostly around Union, Murray and Pyrmont streets and Jones Bay Wharf, where there are pub dining rooms, cafes and waterfront restaurants offering Italian, modern Australian, French, Japanese and other cuisines. State Transit buses and Metro Light Rail serve the area,with four light rail stations - Pyrmont Bay, Star City, John Street Square and the Sydney Fish Market. Pyrmont’s central city location puts it within easy access of excellent schools and hospitals. Pyrmont is home to the headquarters of s everal corporations including Vodafone, Nokia Australia, Google, the Network Ten studios, the Seven Network production studios and radio stations Nova 96.9, Vega 95.3, 2GB and2SM.
