Chatswood is on Sydney’s North Shore. It is the administrative centre of the local government area of the City of Willoughby.

Suburbs covered by Raine & Horne Chatswood include Chatswood, Willoughby, Naremburn and Roseville.

CHATSWOOD  (11km from CBD)
REAL ESTATE & DESIGN
The styles are mixed. A few grand late Victorian and Federation homes remain but some blocks have been subdivided into quarter acre plots. Californian bungalows were dominant after the world wars, later followed by the full brick homes of the 1950s. There are now numerous modern apartment and town house complexes.

EDUCATION
Chatswood has several public schools and excellent day care and kindergarten facilities. Private schools include St Pius X College, Our Lady of Dolours Primary School and Mercy College.

SHOPPING
Chatswood is heaven to serious shoppers. Elegant Chatswood Chase is home to exclusive fashion, homewares, fresh food, supermarkets and David Jones. Westfield Shopping Centre in Victoria Ave features Myer, Hoyts cinemas and almost 300 specialty retail stores.

DINING
A huge range of eateries featuring steaks, seafood, pizza, pasta, Asian restaurants and noodle bars.

SPORT, FITNESS & RECREATION
There are tennis courts, several golf courses, gyms and health centres and a leisure centre.

TRANSPORT
Buses operate along the Pacific Highway to the city and North Sydney. Chatswood Train Station is linked to the CBD and the soon to be opened direct rail link to Parramatta.

WILLOUGHBY (8.5km north of CBD)
REAL ESTATE & DESIGN
Most homes in Willoughby were built after the 1920s and comprise mainly California bungalows, with some Federation homes and Art Deco semis.

EDUCATION
Willoughby Public School, Willoughby Primary School, Willoughby Girls’ High School and St Thomas’ Catholic School.

SHOPPING
Shopping is divided into 3 locations – High Street, Willoughby Road and Penshurst Street in North Willoughby. High Street has about 15 shops including supermarkets, deli, vet, chemist and bakery. The Willoughby Road shops range from cafes and restaurants to homewares stores. There are about 30 shops scattered along Penshurst Street including a deli, chemist, newsagent, post office, bottle shop, kitchen showroom, dry cleaner, cat vet, and both Persian and Asian supermarkets. Raine & Horne Chatswood is located at 338 Penshurst Street.

DINING
There is a mix of Italian, Armenian, French, Japanese, Persian, Lebanese, Thai and modern Australian restaurants and cafes on Willoughby Road and Penshurst Street.

SPORT, FITNESS & RECREATION
Willoughby Leisure Centre at Bicentennial Park has a gym, an eight-lane pool, spa and sauna. Willoughby Park has two ovals, a community centre, bike track, play areas, pavilions and a bowling club. The area also has several other gyms and fitness centres.

TRANSPORT
There are regular buses to the city, Chatswood Station, Wynyard and Chatswood.

NAREMBURN (7km north of CBD)
REAL ESTATE & DESIGN
Most original workers’ cottages – built from the 1880s to the 1920s - have either been demolished and rebuilt, or are being lovingly “restored” to a luxury they had never known.

EDUCATION
Within close proximity are Cammeray & Willoughby Public Schools, North Sydney Boys High, Marist Brothers College & Willoughby Girls High Schools as well as two TAFE NSW colleges at Crows Nest & Northern Sydney.

SHOPPING
The Willoughby Road has a mixture of shops, including a deli, organic butcher and liquor store. Crows Nest offers a variety of shops including supermarkets and. Westfield is in nearby Chatswood.

DINING
An array of casual dining and cafes catering for all tastes including Italian, Vietnamese, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Lebanese, Thai and modern Australian restaurants.

ROSEVILLE (13km from CBD)

Roseville is a mix of period and contemporary homes, including Victorian, Californian bungalows, modern executive, older style apartments and contemporary townhouses and apartments.

EDUCATION
Home to popular girls’ school Roseville College and Roseville East Primary School. Primary and high schools are in surrounding suburbs of Chatswood and Lindfield. There are also several preschools. University of Technology Sydney’s Ku-ring-gai campus is nearby.

SHOPPING
Roseville is five minutes from the Chatswood shopping hub, with the Westfield and Chatswood Chase shopping centres. Opposite Roseville Railway Station is a shopping strip featuring cafes, delicatessen, newsagent, grocery store and liquor store.

DINING
Many excellent cafes and restaurants, with a selection on the Pacific Highway and Hill Street.

SPORT, FITNESS & RECREATION
Roseville has many parks and sporting ovals, flanked by the Lane Cove and Garigal National Parks. Middle Harbour is popular for fishing, with mooring at Roseville Marina. There also golf courses, a tennis centre and tennis academy.

TRANSPORT
Roseville is on the train line and is well serviced by the local bus services.
