If you want something done, ask a busy person to do it, so the famous saying goes, and no one is busier than sales and marketing whiz Jay Peterson.

After moving from Sydney to Minnamurra in 2005 to escape the city rat race, Jay has made the Illawarra home and consumed himself in our region’s unique cultural and community delights.

Apart from appraising, listing, and selling two-bedroom apartments in Wollongong or four-bedroom houses with a pool at Cordeaux Heights, or large land parcels in Kanahooka, you can find Jay midweek jamming with his rock covers band Southern Discomfort or surfing at Farm Beach with his son Kai

Before real estate, Jay worked for Services NSW in family assistance, an experience that taught him the value of empathy when dealing with a client’s unique and sensitive circumstances whether they are downsizing, have an expanding family or the property is part of a deceased estate. His past working experience also equipped him well to offer honest and trusted market advice.

Jay started in real estate in 2018, before joining Raine & Horne Wollongong in 2020. Real estate was a natural step for Jay, who, with the encouragement of his father Paul an experienced landlord, started investing while still a teenager.

Over the years, as an investor Jay dealt with many real estate agents, enabling him to know what worked and what didn’t. So, when the time arrived for a career change, he decided to bring his natural flair for marketing and sales to the Illawarra property market.
