Property awards highlight growth of Raine & Horne in Queensland

March 12, 2019

Raine & Horne Cleveland led by Jan Goetze won the Top Office (Dollar Value) category for Queensland, and Raine & Horne Port Douglas & Mossman took first place as the network’s Top Office (Number of Sales) criterion. Co-principals David Cotton and Travis Schumacher manage the Port Douglas outfit.

Steve Worrad, General Manager, Raine & Horne said he was pleased that a Brisbane office and its regional counterpart shared the major office gongs.

“Over the last four years, we have aggressively increased the size of our network in Queensland with more offices in Brisbane and across the state. So, it’s personally pleasing to see the success of our offices at Cleveland and Port Douglas who have embraced our industry-best culture, systems, and training,” says Mr Worrad.

Apart from winning the Top Office (Number of Sales) category, the Port Douglas office finished third in the Top Office Dollar Value criterion and was named the network’s Top Coastal office. Meanwhile, 2018 Rookie of the Year for Sales Charlie Madgwick finished in the Top Salesperson categories for Dollar Value and Number of Sales. Mrs Madgwick was elevated into the Chairman’s Club for his stellar sales efforts in 2018.

The Port Douglas office also won an award for Product Engagement in for its use of Amplify, a world first initiative in artificial intelligence (AI) technology that enabled the entire Raine & Horne global network to promote and sell over 6,000 listings in 2018 through social media platforms.

“Teamwork, dedication and the adoption of Amplify set us apart in 2018,” said Mr Cotton. “There is no doubt that Amplify put our properties in front of more eyeballs last year and is the reason we sold more properties than any other office in our network in Queensland.

“Vendors are also seeing that we are sending our listings far and wide via Amplify and social media and this is, in turn, encouraging more owners to list their properties with us. More listings result ultimately in more sales.”

Samantha McLaughlin was named Residential Property Manager of the year, while Senior Property Manager/Director Jocelyn Schumacher was honoured with the prestigious Graeme Skarratt Award. Mr Skarratt is a 60-year veteran of Raine & Horne and a long-time director of the firm.

Mr Cotton said, “Jocelyn is a workhorse who never stops work on the computer until 11 p.m. She brilliantly combines her many roles as business owner, an ambassador for the brand and mother.”

Ms Goetze was equally delighted with the performance of her team in winning a swag of awards. Apart from grabbing the Top Office (Dollar Value) gong, Raine & Horne Cleveland won the Auction Shield (Metropolitan) for most sales completed under the hammer and a top 5 finish in the Top Office (Number of Sales) category.

Additionally, hotshot sales agent Tom Banjanin was named Top Salesperson (Dollar Value), while Ms Goetze finished second behind Raine & Horne Hervey Bay’s Stephen King in the Top Auction Lister category. Ms Goetze and Mr Banjanin were elevated into the Chairman’s Club for their sales efforts last year.

Ms Goetze attributed her team’s award-winning success to ‘hard work and marketing.’ “We have embraced all the latest marketing tools such as Amplify. However, we are also still using the local print media to promote our listings.”

As for Tom Banjanin’s success, Ms Goetze said the sales whiz’s combination of experience and his ability to read people proved an award-winning formula in 2018. “Savvy salespeople like Tom are hard to come by as they need to be able to see, sense and even smell the sale.

“We also further embraced the auction process in 2018 as it reduces the days it takes to sell a property in Cleveland. It does this by creating buyer urgency and competition.”
