Raine & Horne Kurri expands as first-time buyers and investors lead the charge for local properties

March 9, 2022

Raine & Horne Kurri Kurri has emphasised its market dominance as the leading real estate agency in Kurri with the completion of its brand-new office extension.

Ms Carolyn Wallis-Tomlins, Director/Sales Agent, Raine & Horne Kurri Kurri, said, “With the extension expanding our current office space by more than 50%, Raine & Horne Kurri Kurri now holds the title for the largest real estate office in our core area of Kurri Kurri.

“Apart from more room for our growing team, the bigger office gives us a more significant commercial presence in town.”

The new extensions were completed over two months with work including a brand-new open plan property management wing, new kitchen and bathroom facilities, additional meeting areas and more storage space for archiving and filing.

The office now boasts a bold new front facade with larger signage and window decals making it easily visible from the road and passing traffic.

“Our expansion comes off the back of recent rent roll growth for our agency and the subsequent employment of additional staff members to manage this growth,” Ms Wallis-Tomlins said.

“With our new office design now able to accommodate multiple new staff members as needed, we are now fully prepared for future growth possibilities and to continue our ongoing dominance in the local area at a time when first time buyers and out-of-area investors are leading the charge for local real estate.”

According to Ms Wallis-Tomlins, out-of-town investors are leading the charge for houses with 4-5 bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, and double garages in suburbs such as Kurri Kurri and Heddon Greta. For example, an impressive 5-bedroom house at 75 Rawson Street, Kurri Kurri that recently sold for $770,000[i]. “Our region’s affordability and rental yields nudging 4% are appealing to out-of-area investors.”

She added, “On the owner-occupier side of the coin, first-time buyers are very prominent in the entry level markets.

“Our affordability appeals with a first-time couple snapping up modern freestanding brick villa at East Branxton recently for $520,000[ii].”
