Spectacular residence expected to smash $2.8 million house price record for Wagga

November 18, 2021

The listing agent Grant Harris of Raine & Horne Wagga Wagga has pledged his entire commission to charity

Wagga Wagga NSW (11 November 2021) An exclusive residence located on Slocum Street in Wagga Central has hit the market and is expected to fetch a record price, while all sales commissions from the sale will be donated to a prominent local charity, CareSouth.

The current residential record for Wagga is $2.8 million and the selling agent, Grant Harris, Director of Raine & Horne Wagga Wagga, expects the property located at 66 Slocum Street, Wagga Wagga Central to easily beat this mark.

“The well-appointed Slocum Street property is arguably the most exclusive residence to hit the Wagga market and it’s a class above,” said Mr Harris, who has pledged 50% of his commission from the sale to CareSouth, a children’s charity based across Southern and Western NSW, including Wagga.

Sure to catch the eye of businessowners and executives

The spectacular 6-bedroom residence will be sold by Expressions of Interest, and Mr Harris believes it will appeal to local business owners and professionals, as well as well-heeled Sydney and Melbourne buyers seeking a regional get away midway between Australia’s two biggest cities.

“The prestige market in Wagga is dominated by professionals such as doctors, specialists, lawyers and accountants, as well as local entrepreneurs, and we expect interest from this market,” said Mr Harris.

“Also, this property will appeal to professionals or entrepreneurs moving to Wagga from Sydney or Melbourne for a treechange, and who will still be earning capital city money.

“It could be the owner of a major IT company, an investment banker or digital marketing whiz who wants a regional retreat in a location offering services and amenities like a big city.

“For example, QantasLink and REX operate direct flights to and from Sydney and Melbourne daily from Wagga Wagga Airport. This allows entrepreneurs and executives to be back in a city office for a 9am meeting. There are also now flights with Qantas to Brisbane direct.”

A lifestyle choice for entertainers

Mr Harris expects huge interest in the unique multi-functional dwelling that offers numerous lifestyle zones. “With endless options to cater for small intimate gatherings or the biggest of parties, this home is the ultimate entertainer.”

The possibilities include two decks overlooking a 25-metre lap pool, and external paved courtyard adjacent to tennis and basketball courts, as well as a games room, gymnasium, and a wine cellar underneath the garage.

“With room for up to 12 cars and four remote controlled roller doors the garage is a truly unique feature of the home that also comes with a full bathroom and kitchenette,” said Mr Harris.

“Despite catering to every lifestyle whim, this property is very low maintenance, so a retiree can lock it up and go travelling.”

He added, “There is also ample room in the separate “Round Room” for a well-equipped home office or even a boardroom. The use of home boardrooms is a trend that has been foisted upon business owners and entrepreneurs in the wake of COVID lockdowns.”

Supporting CareSouth and the Wagga community

The decision to support CareSouth is about giving back for Mr Harris and the vendor of the property.

“We will donate 50% of the five-figure commission to CareSouth and will donate the balance to a charity chosen by the buyer once the property settles,” Mr Harris said. “For example, if the buyer was an oncologist, he or she might want to support Ronald McDonald House.

“CareSouth is the perfect choice as it provides a safe place for children and young people to live, along with emergency housing and foster care amongst other services in Wagga as well as other regional areas like Griffith, Deniliquin, Goulbourn and towns on the South Coast.

“For me personally, I have enjoyed a great career in real estate over the last 23 years, and I want to do something to support an excellent cause such as CareSouth.

“It’s important for our business to give back to the community that has supported us. We do it with support for associations such as Rotary and Apex, but it seems that any proceeds from the sale of one of Wagga’s most exclusive homes should go to people who don’t currently have a home.”

Simone Wood, Team Leader, CareSouth is delighted that Raine & Horne Wagga Wagga is supporting her organisation commenting, “This financial support from Grant and his team will provide us with the opportunity to support more people in regional NSW who are experiencing homelessness.

“What makes CareSouth unique is our commitment to service excellence. As a local community-based organisation with a big heart, we are bold, determined, and innovative in our style.

“At CareSouth we are passionate about, and committed to, building strong communities.  We enhance and strengthen the lives of those we work with, and we seek to inspire each other and the communities in which we operate – through excellence in service delivery and by always doing what we say we will do,” said Ms Wood.
