A licenced real estate agent since 1978, Bruce Kilgour, is one of western Sydney’s most broadly experienced realtors.

A senior member of the Raine & Horne St Mary’s team, Bruce’s stellar career includes stints in residential and commercial sales and property management, as well as shopping centre management.

Bruce, who grew up in a successful real estate family, was also the principal of a small industrial agency, while his extensive resume includes spells with some of Australia’s biggest real estate brands before he joined Raine & Horne St Marys in 2003.

Always up for a new challenge, Bruce believes his wide ranging property experience has proven the perfect platform for his current role. “Because I have completed a broad variety of real estate related functions, I am equally comfortable talking to tenants, buyers, sellers or owner’s corporations whether it’s a residential, commercial or industrial strata management issue.”

Along with his brother and property manager Alex Kilgour, Bruce is responsible for taking afterhours calls from Raine & Horne St Marys’ customers. “As a young bloke growing up in a real estate family, we were used to dad taking business calls at home at night and on weekends. Being available around the clock is second nature for Alex and me.”

A passionate devotee of the bricks and mortar asset class, Bruce, manages around 90% of the annual general meetings held on behalf of Raine & Horne St Mary’s 550 body corporates. This makes him something of a public face for Raine & Horne St Marys, and he attributes his success as a strata manager to his courteous and understanding manner. “We are often dealing with families and their homes and we always keep this in mind, and are considerate of everyone’s feelings whenever we are making a determination on a matter.”

Bruce is also adamant that maintaining an open mind is critical for a strata manager. “In the same way that no two marriages are the same, each body corporate will have individual issues that set them apart.” He added, “This is why choosing an experienced strata manager such as Raine & Horne St Marys, which has been a leading manager since the 1980s, is critical to protecting your real estate asset.”
