Mooloolaba is a tourist resort township in the centre of the Sunshine Coast, QLD, about 100km north of Brisbane.
Blessed with a mix of ocean beaches, riverfront, a large variety of restaurants and great nightlife, Mooloolaba is a popular town boasting about 300 days of sunshine a year. It has an all-weather port which is home to a large trawling fleet and is finishing point for blue-water sailing races from both Sydney and Auckland.
The Esplanade facing Mooloolaba beach is a centre for tourist activity, containing the UnderWater World marine park, as well as many souvenir and clothing shops, galleries and restaurants. The scenic gems of the Sunshine Coast hinterland are a short drive inland.
Schools include Mooloolaba Primary School, Mooloolaba State School and Mountain Creek State High School.
Mooloolaba is served by several hospitals including Sunshine Coast Private Hospital, Buderim Private Hospital, Nambour General Hospital and Caloundra Hospital.
The Sunshine Coast region is served by the Bruce Highway, Sunshine Motorway, the Brisbane-Sunshine Coast rail line, the Brisbane International Airport and the Sunshine Coast International Airport.
