R&H Suburb Profile NORTH CURL CURL
North Curl Curl is a legendary suburb in northern Sydney, 19km north-east of the CBD, in the local government area of Warringah Council.
Part of the Northern Beaches region, Curl Curl Lagoon and Greendale Creek separate North Curl Curl from Curl Curl. Wingala is a locality in the western part of the suburb. North Curl Curl Beach sits on the south-eastern border and extends to Curl Curl Beach.
Surfing culture dominates North Curl Curl, with many residents enthusiastic members of the surf life saving and longboard clubs.
North Curl Curl Beach is patrolled by professional lifeguards seven days a week. On weekends and public holidays this is supplemented by surf club volunteers.
Also popular is the 32m x 20m rectangular, tidally flushed pool, sited on a natural rock shelf with the rock itself forming one side of the pool. It is located at the end of a long scenic trek from the surf club and carpark at North Curl Curl Beach.
North Curl Curl has two public schools, Curl Curl North Public School and the Manly Selective Campus of the Northern Beaches Secondary College, formerly Manly Boys High School. It also has one private school, St Luke's Grammar School.
North Curl Curl is well served by restaurants and entertainment venues in surrounding suburbs, as well as major hospitals nearby.
