R&H Suburb Profile CAPALABA
Capalaba is a suburb east of Brisbane, Queensland, in the local government area of Redland City.
The suburb has a population of more than 17,000 and is home to two large shopping and commercial centres (Capalaba Central and Capalaba Park) with a mall and bus station, and light industrial zones surrounded by residential streets and bushland. Together they offer hundreds of shopping facilities, including supermarkets and a large array of other stores. Capalaba Central also has a multi-cinema movie theatre. The Redland City Library and Council Chambers and bus interchange station are also on the Capalaba Central premises. Capalaba Park is directly opposite Capalaba Central.
There are several major schools in Capalaba including Coolnwynpin State Primary School (Prep-7), Capalaba State College (Prep-12) and St Luke's Catholic School. One of the biggest and most popular schools is Alexandra Hills State High School, close to the border of Capalaba.
Capalaba residents have access to several nearby hospitals including Redland Hospital.
The Capalaba Bus Station is serviced by TransLink bus routes, part of the Capalaba Central Shopping Centre.
