Caulfield is a suburb of Melbourne, 11km south-east of the CBD, in the local government area of the City of Glen Eira. At the 2006 census Caulfield had a population of almost 5000. It is home to Caulfield Racecourse and the Caulfield campus of Monash University.
Caulfield is well-serviced by public transport, with trains connecting the suburb to the city via the major transport interchange, Caulfield Railway Station at Caulfield East. Trams service North South and East Caulfield extensively via route 67 (along Glenhuntly Road) route 64 (along Hawthorn Road), crossing Hawthorn Road at both Balaclava Road and Glenhuntly Road and route 3 near the railway station.
There are several schools in the area including Caulfield Grammar School, Caulfield Park Community School, Wesley College, Kilvington Girls' Grammar.
Caulfield is within close proximity of major hospitals.
