Arana Hills is a within Pine Rivers Shire, 12 km North-West of Brisbane, Queensland, on the edge of the Bunyaville Forest Reserve.

Arana Hills has several neighbourhood shopping villages as well as one of Queensland's six Kmart Plaza complexes, located on Dawson Parade. The area is also served by Brookside Shopping Centre, 3km to the east, and the Great Western Super Centre, 3km to the south-west.

This family-oriented suburb has kindergartens, childcare facilities and a primary school, with more primary schools in nearby Ferny Hills and Keperra (Grovely), as well as high schools in neighbouring suburbs Ferny Grove and Mitchelton.

Arana Hills has its own fire station, library, medical centre and is well serviced by public buses and Grovely train station less than 1km away. The main post office is in the Kmart Plaza, with four major banks within 500m. Arana Hills has many community run clubs and associations, parks and an indoor cricket centre. The Hills District of Ferny, Arana and Everton Hills have a monthly community newspaper called The Hills Echo.

Arana Hills is close to Oxford Park, Grovely and Ferny Grove Railway Stations and the city-bound buses at Brookside Bus Interchange. Its local government area is the Moreton Bay Region.
