R&H Suburb Profile WINDSOR

Windsor is in Brisbane’s inner north, about 3.5km from the CBD. The suburb is hilly, leafy and largely residential, featuring many old Queenslanders. There is considerable retail commercial activity, primarily along Lutwyche and Newmarket Roads, offering excellent commercial investment opportunities.

Windsor is within walking distance of the historic Breakfast Creek and Newstead areas and within a few minutes of the city. It is just north of the Royal Brisbane, Royal Children's and Royal Women's Hospital complex at Herston, therefore popular with health professionals. A massive decorator's centre at the former site of the Brett's lumber-yard offers homewares stores, gourmet supermarket, and a retro diner.

Windsor Station is only 8 minutes from Central and provides access to regular Citytrain services to Ferny Grove, Brisbane and Beenleigh. Bus services feed into the inner northern busway.

There are several schools, including Windsor State School and Woolowin State School. Windsor is also served by schools in the nearby suburb of Wilston, including Wilston State School (Prep to Year 7) and St Columba's Primary (Prep to Year 7).

The suburb is home to Downey Park where many sports are played, including netball, softball and hockey.
