Lake Munmorah is situated towards the northern end of the Central Coast of NSW, at the northern end of Lake Munmorah. Nearby are the townships of Budgewoi, Mannering Park, Toukley and Norah Head to the south and Summerland Point, Gwandalan & Catherine Hill Bay to the north. It is part of the Wyong Shire local government area. Lake Munmorah itself is located more than 100km north of Sydney’s CBD and about 21km north of The Entrance.

The township is bordered by Lake Munmorah, the Pacific Ocean and Pacific Hwy - making it an ideal spot for water enthusiasts. Lake Munmorah has long been an area known for its retirees and holiday homes. However, rising housing prices in the Sydney metropolitan area during the 1990s attracted many city workers, with increasing numbers of people commuting to the Sydney metropolitan area and Newcastle, daily.

Lake Munmorah has a public primary school and high school and a catholic primary. Plus a new Catholic High School due for completion next year. 

Lake Munmorah offers dozens of recreational activities including sailing, waterskiing, tennis, swimming, boating, surfing, horseriding, cycling and bushwalking. Prawning is also popular when in season. The Hunter Valley vineyards are 40 minutes drive north.

Families can enjoy a picnic by the lake or head into the National Park with plenty of camping areas, walking tracks and access to Birdie Beach.
Lake Munmorah Bowling Club is popular with locals.

Woolworths has recently opened on the corner of Tall Timbers Rd and Pacific Hwy and includes 15 specialty shops, medical centre and Woolworths Petrol Station.

Nearby hospitals include Wyong Public Hospital, Belmont District Hospital and John Hunter at Newcastle.
