2012 the year to buy in Eastwood

  • More Eastwood homes should come to market in 2012
  • Two bedroom units available from $400,000
  • Heritage homes on large blocks of land a popular choice

Strong buyer demand and an increase in property listings is expected to make 2012 a busy year in residential real estate for Sydney’s northern suburb of Eastwood, according to leading real estate group Raine & Horne.

Adrian Root, Director of the newly-established Raine & Horne Eastwood, said there were already several positive signs for home buyers and sellers.

“A lot of people have indicated to me that they want to sell in 2012, after holding back in 2011, while we have already seen an increase in homebuyer enquiries since the RBA’s rate cuts,” Mr Root said.

“Additionally, Eastwood’s ongoing popularity means there are always buyers in the market and we typically experience demand for all property types, from people trying to get a foot on the property ladder with a unit, to those seeking an original Eastwood home for the history and character.”

Mr Root said older-style two bedroom units, popular with younger buyers, were available for between $400,000 and $430,000, while larger heritage homes can sell for between $1 million and $2 million.

“Also, any property which boasts a big, flat block of land will always sell well and achieve a good price,” he added.

Mr Root added that factors such as good schools, a thriving restaurant scene, and good transport links made Eastwood a popular choice for buyers and investors.

“Eastwood is well situated, with Parramatta 20 minutes away and the city only 30 minutes, and many families are attracted by our central location and the suburb’s strong sense of community.”

Another factor for many people selling and buying homes in Eastwood is having a trusted real estate brand, Mr Root said.

“Raine & Horne is a well-known brand, especially in Eastwood, and this community likes dealing with people and brands they know and trust.

“It certainly makes our job easier when people respond positively to the brand because of its familiarity and reputation, and this is one of the reasons why we joined Raine & Horne.”

Mr Root brings a long-standing family background of over 20 years in Eastwood real estate to the new Raine & Horne Eastwood office, which is located at 26 Rowe Street, Eastwood.

“We already have a strong property management profile in the area, but we want to grow as a business and the switch to Raine & Horne gives us the opportunity to move in some new directions.”

Raine & Horne CEO, Angus Raine, said Eastwood had a variety of properties and its excellent location made it a great place to buy a home.

“We are very happy to welcome Adrian, his mother Beverley and the Raine & Horne Eastwood team on board, and wish them every success in 2012 and into the future.”

Raine & Horne is an iconic Australian property firm, with more than 360 offices worldwide. Also an established Superbrand along with Qantas, Vegemite, Woolworths and Myer, the company has four distinct property service brands including Raine & Horne Residential, Raine & Horne Commercial, Raine & Horne Rural and Raine & Horne Financial.
