Boom predicted for exclusive NSW northern district suburbs

Leading northern districts real estate agent David Meldrum predicts a booming 2010 after a strong start to the year’s sales.

The Raine & Horne Beecroft proprietor said that if the economy continued to improve, house prices would increase in value.

“We are experiencing strong buyer enquiry and strong sales activity in Beecroft and Cheltenham,” Mr Meldrum said.

“Anything between $750,000 and $900,000 is highly sought after, as are properties above $2 million.”

A tightly-held market in these exclusive suburbs, as well as proximity to respected schools and nearby infrastructure, was driving such strong activity, he said.

“Beecroft and Cheltenham are the jewels in the crown of the northern districts. There are only 4000 properties in this postcode and a distinct lack of listings,” Mr Meldrum said.

“The M2 and the new Epping to Chatswood railway line have made a difference, giving residents better access to good schools like Cheltenham Girls High School, Kings, Barker, Knox, Trinity and Newington.
