Byron Bay prestige buyers jostle for a slice of heaven on earth

Media release - 16th December, 2013

Momentum building in top end of the Byron market

Leading North Coast real estate firm, Raine & Horne Byron Bay, is maintaining its reputation for listing the region’s most exclusive and sought-after properties, with the upcoming auction of 52 Fig Tree Lane, Myocum.

Listing agent Janis Perkins, Licensed Real Estate Agent with Raine & Horne Byron Bay, confirms the property’s special appeal, with its 360-degree views to the Cape Byron lighthouse, ocean and mountains sure to appeal to buyers ahead of its 25 January, 2014 auction.

52 Fig Tree Lane, Myocum“This Balinese-style master-built luxury residence sits on six acres, and features five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a six-car garage,” says Ms Perkins.

Other features of the property, which is jointly listed with another agency, include a central courtyard with pool, a state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen with island cooktop, and a guest pavilion with outdoor shower.

“The property also comes with DA approval for a two-room studio with en-suite, and is expected to fetch a price in the mid-$2 million range,” adds Ms Perkins.

Located a short 20-minute drive inland from Byron Bay, Myocum is an exclusive enclave among rolling grasslands, with extensive views to Mt. Warning on the Tweed, while the eclectic township of Mullumbimby is just five kilometres away.

Ms Perkins has sold a number of similar properties in the region in recent times, such as a stunning home in the Byron Hinterland, on Wilsons Creek Road at Wilsons Creek. This property was previously owned by well-known SAE Institute founder and local identity, Tom Misner, and sold to expats from Hong Kong for around $2 million.

“The top end of the market in Byron is definitely on the up, with momentum building and the market having its best quarter in the past few years.

“We’re finding that a lot of our buyers in this price range love the fact that Byron isn’t mainstream, and now after some years of flat growth, buyers are surging back into the township to relocate from interstate or overseas, or to buy a Byron holiday home.”
