Central Coast real estate firm takes out top award as Sydney holidaymakers flock north

Leading Central Coast real estate firm Raine & Horne Terrigal-Avoca Beach has been recognised as one of the state’s best property management offices at the recent Real Estate Institute of New South Wales (REINSW) ‘Awards for Excellence’.

Raine & Horne Terrigal-Avoca Beach received the 2011 award for ‘Excellence in Holiday and Short-Term Property Management’, which, according to principal Brett Hunter, acknowledges more than just the high standard of their holiday listings.

“Undoubtedly, the award looks at whether you have provided quality accommodation and memorable guest experiences, but it also takes into account the back-end processes that go into providing a great holiday letting, such as customer service, financial management, and leasing systems,” Mr Hunter said.

“This is why we are so honoured to win the award for the first time, against a large number of entrants across the state, and after having been nominated for this award in previous years.”

According to Mr Hunter, the award also shows the Central Coast holiday market is booming, as more Sydneysiders make it their destination of choice for both short stays and longer getaways.

“We have secured a 20% increase in revenue for our owners every month for the last six months, and this not only proves the strength of the Central Coast holiday market, but also that the targets set by our firm are paying off.”

Indeed, Mr Hunter says Raine & Horne Terrigal-Avoca Beach’s property managers are honouring two fundamental responsibilities – protection and income – when it comes to their holiday properties.

“It is important to protect our property owners’ asset, both physically and legally, and at the same time ensure the security of their income.”

One way the firm has achieved this is through altering their approach to holiday lettings, especially with a busy Christmas period looming.

“The Central Coast usually has a bumper crop of holidaymakers at Christmas time, with 100% occupancy of holiday properties.

“Knowing we can’t improve on a 100% result, instead we have focussed on helping people extend their stays before and after the Christmas period, as well as assisting them with shorter stays of perhaps three or four days on multiple occasions,” Mr Hunter said.

Raine & Horne is an iconic Australian property firm, with more than 360 offices worldwide. Also an established Superbrand along with Qantas, Vegemite, Woolworths and Myer, the company has four distinct property service brands including Raine & Horne Residential, Raine & Horne Commercial, Raine & Horne Rural and Raine & Horne Financial.
