Darwin real estate firm rated among Australia’s best

Darwin, NT (7 February 2018) – NT real estate firm Raine & Horne Darwin has been named one of Australia’s leading real estate sales offices in a national list of top performing real estate brands.  

The REB Top 50 list ranks real estate sales offices across Australia according to a range of metrics, including efficiency, conversion ratios, number of sales and sales volume.

Raine & Horne Darwin has secured thirteenth position in the Real Estate Business (REB) Top 50 Sales Offices 2018 ranking. Raine & Horne Batemans Bay and Sydney powerhouse, Raine & Horne Double Bay are also among Australia’s best 50 real estate offices. 

“We are the only Northern Territory real estate office among Australia’s Top 50, and we are the best ranked Raine & Horne office,” said Glenn Grantham, General Manager, Raine & Horne Darwin.

“Significantly, we have also finished ahead of the best real estate offices from Western Australia, South Australia, and Tasmania, which have significantly bigger populations and real estate markets than the NT.”

Mr Grantham attributed the result to conventional business efficiency.

“We recorded the highest staff efficiency rating of 67.5 among those ranked in the Top 50. This efficiency rating is almost 20 points higher than the next best office in the Top 50, a firm located in Melbourne,” said Mr Grantham.

“We also have the highest sales conversion ratio of 270%. The next best sales conversion ratio was 150%, which was logged by a real estate office in Frankston, Victoria.

“These results were achieved by employing high-quality and hard-working sales staff, as well as the quality of the properties we are marketing.”

The recognition of Raine & Horne Darwin is also meritorious given the tight property market conditions the firm has operated within since it last featured in the Real Estate Business Top 50 in 2015. In 2017, Raine & Horne Darwin sold 270 properties, which represents about 10% of the Darwin sales market.

“In challenging market conditions, we focussed only on selling quality products that were priced correctly and marketed efficiently,” said Mr Grantham.

“We never spend money marketing properties that are unsaleable – and only ever deal with reality rather than fairyland. This straightforward approach to real estate is generating plenty of repeat business and off-market sales for us.”

Mr Grantham said that he remains convinced the Darwin property market has reached the bottom of the cycle.

“We now have international investors contacting us about apartments in the Darwin CBD, Larrakeyah and Stuart Park where values have taken a tumble over the last few years. The fact we have global investors seeking value and yield is a bellwether sign that the Darwin market is turning,” said Mr Grantham.

“There hasn’t been any international interest in the Darwin market since 2013.

“That said, we are still in a tough market for vendors, and a tough market calls for a tough, efficient agent such as Raine & Horne Darwin.”
