Office named among Australia’s best real estate agents

  • Real Estate Business magazine names Raine & Horne Gladstone in its Top 50
  • Raine & Horne Gladstone is one of seven Raine & Horne offices to make the REB list
  • Raine & Horne held its Queensland Annual State Awards at Stamford Plaza in Brisbane on Saturday 2nd March, 2013

Decorated agency Raine & Horne Gladstone has enjoyed a dream run after it was named as one Australia’s top 50 real estate offices and Raine & Horne’s top sales office in Queensland based on dollar value in the space of a week.

In its February 2013 issue, property publication Real Estate Business, confirmed that Raine & Horne Gladstone is one of seven Raine & Horne offices to make the national Top 50.

Raine & Horne Gladstone sold 298 properties in 2012 totalling almost $94 million, giving the office a ranking of 30th overall.

The results are testimony to the hard work and leadership shown by principals such as Mark Patton at Raine & Horne Gladstone, many of which operate in incredibly tough and competitive markets, according to Simon Parker, editor of Real Estate Business.

“It’s a humbling experience to be positioned within the top 50 offices in Australia and it’s recognition of the hard work put in by the team at Raine & Horne Gladstone,” said Mr Patton.

“This award is based on our results rather than industry opinion, which is a significant achievement.”

Raine & Horne Gladstone also dominated the leading real estate group’s Queensland Annual State Awards, held at Brisbane’s Stamford Plaza on Saturday night.

Apart from winning Top Office (dollar value), Raine & Horne Gladstone placed second in the Top Office (number of sales) category behind Raine & Horne Toowoomba, while sales agents Michelle Rose and Richard Steele earned top ten finishes in the Top Salesperson – number of sales, behind winner Lisa Palmer from Raine & Horne Charters Towers.

Ms Palmer also snatched Raine & Horne’s Top Salesperson – Principal (dollar value) award.

Other award winners included Raine & Horne Goondiwindi in the hotly contested Top Rural Office category, while newcomer Mark Whitham from Raine & Horne Mossman/Port Douglas was named Rookie of the Year for sales.

Raine & Horne Commercial also recognised its best and brightest, with Raine & Horne Commercial Brisbane Southside and Raine & Horne Commercial Brisbane North the big winners on the night.

Raine & Horne Commercial Brisbane Southside, led by Co-Principals Joseph Grasso and Nick Comino, was named Top Commercial Office Business Growth, while sales agent Peter Trikamji was named Top Commercial Salesperson (dollar value).

Angus Raine, CEO Raine & Horne, also presented Mr Grasso with the network’s ‘Award for Excellence’, in honour of his long-time commitment to the 130-year old Raine & Horne brand.

Yet Raine & Horne Commercial Brisbane North dominated the Top Salesperson (leasing dollar value), with Tim Jones grabbing first place ahead of his colleagues Lawrence Temple and Nick Whinnett.  Raine & Horne Commercial Brisbane North also grabbed the award as the network’s best commercial auction lister.

Mr Raine, who delivered the keynote speech at the awards, congratulated the winners and stated that Queensland real estate was set for a promising 2013.

“Undeniably, 2012 threw up a number of challenges for Queensland real estate, yet the Raine & Horne network continued to excel, expanding into new residential and commercial real estate markets with the respective launch of offices at Pacific Pines and Hervey Bay, as well as a specialist Onsite Rights office,” said Mr Raine.

“In January, Brisbane property values enjoyed a 2% bounce on the back of improved consumer confidence and lower interest rates, a trend that augurs well for the remainder of 2013.

“Rebounding values represent outstanding news for homeowners, especially those who have been sitting on their hands since the onset of the GFC, waiting for real estate market confidence to return,” said Mr Raine.
