Executives leading the charge for Byron Bay luxury pads

  • Executive buyers lead the charge for luxury Byron Bay homes
  • Home at Coopers Shoot sells just under $5 million (price undisclosed)
  • Raine & Horne Byron Bay lists home at 87 Massinger Street, Byron Bay for $2.5 million – that generates annual holiday rental income of $200,000

Byron Bay’s prestige property market is heating up as the north coast lifestyle haven draws increasing interest from executive buyers, according to leading property firm Raine & Horne.

Janis Perkins, property consultant for Raine & Horne Byron Bay, said the interest was not confined to Australian buyers.

“We are receiving enquiries from both Australian and overseas executives for many of our prestige home listings, which currently represent very good value,” Ms Perkins said.

The recent sale of a sprawling home in the prestigious Coopers Shoot enclave, in Byron Bay’s stunning rural hinterland, is one such example of the growing demand for high end properties. This property sold for just under $5 million.

“Additionally, we recently listed a five bedroom home at 87 Massinger Street, Byron Bay, which is on offer for over $2.5 million, and features a huge entertaining deck, a pool and sensational views over Byron Bay.

“This property currently provides a holiday rental income of about $200,000 a year, and we have received interest in this property as a holiday home, an investment, and as a potential business development opportunity.”

Ms Perkins says the home is being sold by William Scott, chairman of Aussie Farmers Direct, an Australian home delivery service supplying fresh produce to Australian households, and which is reportedly one of the fastest growing franchises in Australia.

“Mr Scott has purchased a 100-acre property in the Byron Bay hinterland, and he is just another of the many executives expanding their foothold in Byron Bay.”

To the north of Byron Bay, Raine & Horne Byron Bay has also recently listed a boutique accommodation retreat at Billinudgel.

Just 15 minutes from Byron and set on approximately nine private acres of lush and tranquil hinterland, The Pocket Rainforest Retreat is fully approved as a tourist facility and offers four 2-bedroom villas, as well as a four bedroom, three bathroom main residence and fully licensed restaurant.

“This property is ideal for a buyer with an eye for a good business opportunity, and is ready for someone to move in and create their own lifestyle and business,” Ms Perkins said.
